New Nissan Sunny Petrol & Diesel, mileage & price in India | Car Sales | Nissan Motors India Ltd. (NMIL) is having its manufacturing facility at Chennai in association with Renault in India. Nissan is presently selling Teana, a luxury sedan and Xrial and  Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and 370 Z a sport car model by importing them. Nissan Micra is a small car hatchback model that is manufactured in India and sold in Indiain both petrol and diesel versions. Nissan can be able to sell about 13,000 Micra cars last year and is planning to increase the sales of Nissan Micra to 40,000 cars this year in 2011.

According to Nissan cars company sources it is planning to produce 4,00,000 cars from the Indian manufacturing facility and is planning to export about 2,00,000 fromIndia. Nissan motors have announced the launch of new sedan model Nissan Sunny in Indian car markets. Nissan sunny is a mid size sedan and shall be available in both petrol and diesel variants for Indian markets. Nissan Motors is further planning to increase its dealer network in India to 200.

Nissan Motors is also planning to manufacture the spare parts locally with in India to maintain them cheaper compared with other and compete with other cars. Nissan Motors further stated that is planning an SUV to compete with Toyota Innova in association with Ashok Leyland in India.

It is revealed that sunny is designed with V platform. It is expected that the petrol version shall be launched with 1.5 liter engine and the diesel version with 1.6 liter engine with 5 manual gear systems. The mileage of both Diesel and petrol versions of Nissan sunny is yet to be revealed.

Though the company not yet announced the price, it is expected that the base model of Nissan sunny petrol is expected to be around Rs. 8 lakhs and the diesel variant with a price of Rs.1 lakh more than the petrol version.

The loaded example I tested has a sticker price of ,015. The X3 xDrive35i was conceived as a means of allowing BMW to enter the foray of the hotly contested luxury crossover marketplace. Based heavily on the 3 Series model range, people were excited about taking the vaunted driving dynamics of the 3 and packaging them in a body style that would offer more practicality to those who wanted a bit more utility with their sport.

The bulk of the fun comes from this X3's engine. The 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder unit is a paragon of turbocharged goodness and puts out 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. A variation of this engine is in numerous other BMWs — including the company's Z4 roadster and its full-size 740i sedan — so the power plant is certainly up to the challenge in the X3.

BMW says the X3 35i will scoot from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds, which is creeping into sports car territory. Consider that the Lincoln MKX I recently reviewed, no slouch itself and a competitor to this BMW, needed 7.2 seconds to hit the same speed.

Shift the eight-speed automatic transmission into its Sport mode, and you hear more of the engine. This is because in Sport, the tranny lets the engine get closer to its 7,000-rpm redline before changing gears.

Drivers can also shift the transmission manually using the gear shift knob, though pulling the lever back to upshift is counter to nearly every other setup I can think of. The X3 35i I tested took the manual shifting one step further with optional paddle shifters as part of the ,250 Sport Activity package.

The transmission's eight speeds, the last two of which are in effect overdrive gears, help the X3 35i achieve an EPA rating of 19 miles per gallon in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Over 500 miles of testing, I saw an average of 19 mpg.

Norwich Union Car Insurance Boycotts Price Comparison Sites

Insurance giant Norwich Union has taken the decision to pull its motor insurance policies from car insurance comparison sites. This means you can only get a Norwich Union car insurance quote directly from norwichunion.com

In a move that mirrors the stance taken by Direct Line if you search for car insurance on one of the UK's many price comparison sites you won't be able to see quotes from Norwich Union and compare them against other insurance companies.

Director of Marketing at Norwich Union, David Tyers, said: "We think direct should mean direct. As a brand with 200 years behind it, we think that customers trust us."

Given the continued success of price comparison sites this is a bold move. Not being visible to people who use these services is not without risk. On the upside Norwich Union will avoid having to pay fees for customer referrals. In a time when the global credit crunch is biting any saving a company can make will be welcomed. Whether or not this turns out to be a good decision, only time will tell.

The move has, unsurprisingly, received criticism from some price comparison sites including confused.com, gocompare.com and insurancewide.com.

All this arguing aside the only point that really matters is how this affects car insurance customers. We all want a policy that offers a sensible level of cover but we don't want to pay over the odds.

If more insurance companies join Norwich Union and Direct Line in boycotting price comparison sites it means more time spent shopping around to find quotes, making it more difficult for customers to find the best deals.

Norwich Union’s Price Check Brings Price Comparison In-House

Following on from Norwich Union’s decision to withdraw from price comparison sites the Aviva company has now announced the launch of Price Check; it’s in-house car insurance comparison service.


If you request a car insurance quote from Norwich Union via its website or over the phone they will now provide you will alternative quote from other car insurance providers, even if they are cheaper than their own.

The move is certainly a unique one, there are very few businesses who will actively promote its competitors services.

The reactions seen in Norwich Union’s TV campaign to promote Happy’s Price Check reflect this extremely well.

Whether or not this offer strikes the right note with customers remains to be seen. It should also be interesting to see if any other insurers decide to follow suit and what impact (if any) this has on price comparison sites operating in the UK motor insurance market.

First reactions would suggest several price comparison sites are unimpressed with the Price Check service; gocompare.com, confused.com and insurancewide.com all had interesting views.
